Join us on this 6-day adventure to explore some of the most striking places to visit in Georgia. We’ll start our journey from Tbilisi, the vibrant capital city with an intriguing history, inviting architecture and buzzing social life. In Kakheti, we’ll visit Telavi and Sighnaghi, the two highly anticipated destination on Georgia travel guide. Here you’ll learn about the local winemaking technique and see first hand how Georgians have been making wine in Qvevri for over 8000 years. After tasting some of the delicious Kakheti wines, we’ll travel north to Kazbegi. Here among the majestic Great Caucasus range, it feels like time doesn’t exist. To get a bird’s eye view of this incredible highland scenery we’ll drive all the way up to the iconic Gergeti Monastery at 2170 meters above the sea level. Full with impressions we’ll travel to western Georgia in search of a world-famous Katskhi Pillar. Suspended in the air, this limestone monolith is approximately 40 meters high and overlooks the small river valley of Katsukura. Perched on the top is a Georgia’s most isolated church accessible only by climbing a precarious steel ladder.
For our next stop, we’ll be travelling back to the East. Gori, a seemingly average town at first glance will tell us the childhood stories of none other than Joseph Stalin himself. Stalin’s home museum provides an intimate look into the young man’s everyday life who grew up to become one of the most fearful dictators in recent history.
Our last stop will be Uplistsikhe. Completely hewn out of the rock, this 1st century BC complex is another man-made marvel of striking beauty.
