THE HISTORY OF GODERDZI WINTER SPORTS CENTER

Due to its proximity to the Black Sea, Goderdzi receives higher snowfall than other Georgia ski resorts. Its mountains are blanketed with snow from November to April. This has earned the resort the title of “the most snowy ski resort in Georgia.” At the time of the opening of the resort, snow depth exceeded 2 meters, which was three times greater than the other Georgia skiing resorts of Gudauri and Bakuriani.

Construction of the Goderdzi ski center began in 2011, and the resort was opened in December 2015. Currently there are 4 ski lifts and 6 cottages, but the valley floor’s gently rolling topography offers plenty of zones for future development.
